Project Echelon's main objective is to assist veterans in finding peace, and healing through physical activity and self-discovery. However, many veterans starting a new athletic endeavor may encounter several obstacles that could inhibit their starter improvement in physical activity or sport. Most of these obstacles come in the form of finances, nutrition, workout planning, social support, and even simple equipment knowledge. Project Echelon supports veterans by removing obstacles that may impede a veteran from working toward peace and healing through the Veteran Mentorship Program.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO BECOME A PROJECT ECHELON SUPPORTED VETERAN:
1. Veterans can join Project Echelon by filling out the contact us page or clicking the JOIN button below.
2. Veterans will be contacted and asked to fill out a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely) Goal Sheet that allows Project Echelon to learn what the veteran's needs are.
3. Project Echelon will asses individual veterans' financial and physical limitations and help to bridge them by offering grants to be used in support of things like purchasing equipment, race fees, or a gym membership. Veterans also are entitled to the same discounts that the team's elite athletes receive from our sponsors.
4. Project Echelon then pairs the veteran with an elite athlete that serves as a Project Echelon mentor. They will help produce training and nutrition plans that are tailored to the information from the veteran's SMART Goal Sheet. This relationship also allows for the veteran to gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of his chosen sport.
5. This process continues until the veteran's goals are achieved.
